10 – Secretary/Treasurer Article
It’s
already time to think about next
year. October 1st is the
deadline for any bylaw changes and
for people to submit their name to
be considered for the Board of
Directors.
So
if you want to submit a Bylaw change
you need to follow Article X of our
bylaws which reads
“Any
and all proposed amendments shall be
made in writing and submitted by
postal mail to the state secretary
at the state post office box address
postmarked no later than October 1.”
The
bylaws are on the website – if you
need a copy call and I’ll send out a
copy to you.
To
run for the board of directors you
need to refer to Article VII Section
A.3 which states
“All
other members of the organization
wishing their name to be placed in
nomination for election to the Board
of Directors, shall submit their
request for same, by postal mail to
the state Secretary at the state
post office box, along with the
written endorsement of one other
member of the organization
postmarked no later than October 1st
of the current year.” If you are
thinking of running for the board
please be aware that there are
expenses and time involved. The
board does not get reimbursed their
expenses when they attend any
meeting (unless they have to travel
more than 300 miles one-way to
attend the meeting). There are at
least 6 meetings per year that you
would be required to attend and you
will also be assigned to work on
committees. If I haven’t discouraged
you please remember the October 1st
deadline. If you have any questions
concerning these procedures give me
a call.
For
clarification you will mail either
of the above (bylaw changes or your
name and written endorsement to)

I
want to thank Pirate from Region 5
and Kim McNew for the great job they
are doing as membership officers for
their region. I also want to mention
that Mike Olinger received a
President’s Award for the great job
he did in handling the purchase of
the trailer. And not but not least I
want to thank all the members who
helped out at the Field Meet and
especially, Mike and Collette for
the great job they did. They have
even volunteered to do this again
next year! The following tables show
the results for this year.
