May is Motorcycle Awareness Month! We are all very anxious to get out and ride this year. Spring has sprung. Look Twice Save A Life is very important to inform all drivers that motorcycles are on the road too. Lets all do our part to educate the public about motorcycle safety. ABATE has instructors who teaches driver education students about motorcycle awareness and sharing the road with other motorists. These ABATE members have dedicated their personal time and efforts to help the next generation of drivers to look out for motorcycles.
In May , I am asking everyone to go to a well traveled intersection set up a table and bring chairs to inform the public about Look Twice Save A Life. Take Awareness signs , banners, bumper stickers and info about Awareness. Also Its time to get your proclamation ready for your local village, township, and county so they can help support our cause. Be sure to take pictures and send to Silla so she can put them in the Rider.
The insurance reform has put a burden on all motorcycle riders. ABATE of Michigan is fighting real hard to get a new bill introduced in Michigan. When a person is injured on a motorcycle in Michigan we are stuck with whatever medical coverage that motorist has chosen for their insurance is what you will receive from them. This may lead to a financial hardship. We must all come together to get a new bill proposed to have better coverage for the State of Michigan.
Thank you to RC Robert Meloche of Region 8 and The first responder of the group "Do you see me now" for the interview on WZZm13.com that was Awesome.
I hope everyone has a safe and fun Summer.
