Wow is all I can say!!! I kept watching the weather and it said rain and cold and cold and rain. So the bike raffle weekend was going to be sad!!! But boy was I wrong and that’s a good thing! And I’m very thankful to all the members that braved the weather. It also was great that we had coats, firewood and hot coffee at my camp. lol.
We showed up on Wednesday to get things set up and ready. BUT Mother Nature had different ideas, the wind the rain and I think I saw sleet in there oh my! Then I curled up in the old camper and had the heater on high. Thinking Thursday will be better. There were a few rays of sunshine and folks started showing up. I felt a little better.
Friday came. Yes still cold out but more campers and motorcycles braving the cold. Had a great time with the DJ he was pretty good, the food vendor and the other vendors trying to make our raffle a good event. I want to thank Kim and Bob for the great products display. You are rocking this. I even bought something. If you haven’t seen their set up make sure you see it next time at the seminar. \
Saturday came with just a little sprinkle lol but it cleared up. The bike show had a small turnout but some of the best trophies ever!! Thanks Tom and Dreama who came all the way from Kentucky to help with just about everything. Then the bike games with Shiny Bob, region 15, a one man show that made it happen with a little help from some great members
The top gun challenge had a few raindrops to make it more interesting, thanks Tiny for doing another great job. The front desk was well attended by volunteers and board members. Then on to the silent auction, live auction, bike draw (congrats John G. Region 7 member on your win) then the band playing and dancing till the late hours.
I would also like to thank Clare County Fairgrounds for letting us have this event and the field meet at your awesome location. I don’t know about anyone else but my region loved the location
I really couldn’t do any of this without my committee.
